放射治疗科是福建省肿瘤放射治疗中心和卫生厅挂牌的“福建省放射治疗质量控制中心”，为国内人员最多、规模最大的放射治疗中心之一。放射治疗技术和设备达国内先进水平，放射治疗的质量控制和质量保证完善，是全省唯一达到世界卫生组织（WHO）放射治疗质量标准的放射治疗中心，被福建省政府授予“特色领先专业”。福建省医学会放射肿瘤治疗学分会、福建省抗癌协会放射肿瘤治疗专业委员会和福建省肿瘤放射治疗质量控制中心均挂靠在这里开展日常工作。学科带头人潘建基副院长是留学法国的医学博士，担任中华放射肿瘤学会常委、中华放射肿瘤学会鼻咽癌学组组长、中国抗癌协会鼻咽癌专业委员会副主任委员、中华放射肿瘤学杂志副主编、省放射肿瘤治疗学会和省抗癌协会放射治疗专业委员会主任委员、福建医科大学教授，吴君心副主任、医学博士是省肿瘤放射治疗学会副主任委员。
放疗科有医护人员187人，其中临床医师52人、物理师和剂量师7人、技师43人、护理人员85人。有正高级职称9人，副高职称23人，中级职称41人。潘建基、吴君心、李建成博士均为福建医科大学肿瘤学专业硕士研究生导师。科室与法国、美国的著名放疗中心学术交流频繁，有7位医师和2位物理师分别到法国、美国、瑞典、日本留学深造。美国放射肿瘤治疗学会（ASTRO）主席、MD Anderson癌症中心KK Ang教授担任我院的荣誉医生和荣誉教授。

放疗科有放疗病区6个，床位数288张，居国内之最。分为头颈肿瘤放疗病区、胸部肿瘤放疗病区、腹部肿瘤（包括腹部、颅脑、乳腺、淋巴瘤）放疗病区、综合放疗病区、放疗特需病区和院外放疗组。放疗科按放射治疗中心的国际质量标准配备放射计划和治疗设备，引进当今欧美国家最先进的规范化放射治疗模式，建立了完善的放射治疗质量保证和控制系统，确保放射治疗质量。成功地开展了适形放疗、调强放疗、X光刀、全身电子线照射和X线照射、术中放疗、近距离组织间放疗和深部热疗、放化疗综合治疗、呼吸门控等新技术新项目。近距离放疗研究系列居国内领先水平，已开展腔内和组织间个体化优化的高剂量率近距离放疗1371例（不包括妇科后装），鼻咽癌咽旁间隙插植技术获福建省科技进步奖三等奖、福建省优秀技术创新成果一等奖、福建省自然科学优秀论文二等奖。开展国际最先进的调强放疗（IMRT）和适形放疗，使放射治疗疗效进一步提高，疗后生活质量明显提高，目前已开展1630例，是国内开展最多的医院之一。在鼻咽癌、肺癌、食管癌、乳腺癌、恶性淋巴瘤、直肠癌等各种常见恶性肿瘤的放射治疗研究上，取得了良好疗效。与福建医科大学合作培养放疗专业硕士研究生，接受各省市的放疗进修医师，承担福建省自然科学基金项目、福建省科技项目、福建省医学创新项目等研究。主办国内外大型学术会议多次，其中“福州国际放射肿瘤新进展大会”已形成系列和特色，被誉为国内外放射治疗学术交流的平台。
Department of Radiation Oncology
The department is also the Fujian Provincial Radiotherapy Center, it is one of the largest radiotherapy center in China. Equipped with advanced machines, the department meets the WHO standards in aspects of modern techniques and strict quality control system. It has been authorized as the Fujian Provincial Leading Medical Speciality. The Fujian Radiation Oncology Society, the Radiation Oncology committee of Fujian Anti-cancer Association and Fujian Provincial Radiotherapy Quality Control Center have their offices operating on here. Professor Pan Jianji, deputy Director of the hospital, is a famous radiation oncologist and academic leader of our department. He holds the position of standing committee member of Chinese Society of Radiation Oncology, Chairman of nasopharyngeal Committee of CSRO, Vice Chairman of nasopharygeal Committee of China Anti-Cancer Association, Deputy Chief Editor of Chinese Journal of Radiation Oncology, and Chairman of Fujian Radiation Oncology Society and Radiation Oncology Committee of Fujian Anti-cancer Association.
The department has 187 staffs, including 52 clinical radiation oncologists, 7 physicists, 43 technicians and 85 nurses. Among them, 9 staffs have senior professional title, 23 with deputy senior title and 41 with intermediate title. Prof. Pan Jian-ji, Wu Jun-xin and Li Jian-cheng are tutors of postgraduate students in oncology specialty in Fujian Medical University. The department has frequent academic exchanges with famous radiotherapy centers in USA and Europe, 9 staffs had been trained in France, USA, Sweden and Japan.
The department is composed of clinical wards and radiotherapy center. There are 6 wards with 288 beds which is the largest size in China. The department has Head and Neck Section (2 wards), Thoracic Section (1 wards), Abdomen-CNS-Lymphoma & Breast Section (1wards), Comprehensive Section (1 wards) and Special Service Wards and Outpatient Treatment Section. Equipped with modern treatment systems according to international quality standards, the center established the update radiotherapy procedures in accord with USA and Europe, and a QA and QC system which was strictly implemented. Several new technologies have been successfully developed here, such as CRT, IMRT, X-kife, TBI, IORT, Image guided brachytherapy, hyperthermia and breath control raditherapy. The study of brachytherapy took the lead in China, the program of para-nasopharyngeal interstitial barchytherapy has wined the Award of Fujian Science and Technology, Awards of Fujian Excellent Creation and Invention, as well as the Fujian Excellent Thesis in Natural Sciences. Up to now, the department has treated 1371 patients using individual optimized brachytherapy and 1630 patients using IMRT and CRT, which were the largest numbers among centers in China. Through years of hard work, treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, lung cancer, esophageal carcinoma, breast cancer, lymphoma and rectal cancer have achieved good results in this department, and good reputation has been build up in patients and colleagues in our countries. The academic study is very active in the department, lectures or report meetings were routinely hold in the department. Master-degree postgraduate student are studying here. Lots of clinical doctors from Fujian and other provinces had been trained here. Research programs funded by Fujian Natural Science funding, Fujian Scientific Program, Fujian Medical Innovation Program, are being studied by the department. Several international or national conference on radiatin oncology were successfully hold by our hospital, and academic exchange was performed through these ways.
